Ka'b Al-Ahbar

Ka'b Al-Ahbar
(fl. 7th cent)
   Yemenite scholar. Though born a Jew, he converted to Islam. He was one of the followers of the caliph Omar when he entered Jerusalem. At Omar's request, Ka'b Al-Ahbar pointed out the site where the Temple had stood. Many teachings of the rabbis and words of the aggadah are attributed to him in Muslim literature.
